Thank you for visiting this site!
Wee Darlin Bears, were originally created by Wendy Nellins who died on 9th February 2012. Wendy and Rosetta Jallow made and exhibited bears together in Manchester where Rosetta also was feature writer for Teddy Bear Club International.
Wendy first created Crabapple Bears and Rosetta created Tir na n'Og Bears.
After moving back to the picturesque seaside town of Carrickfergus, Wendy decided that she wanted her bears to reflect more of her Northern Irish roots, and Wee Darlin Bears was launched.
Crabapple Bears appeared in specialist teddy magazines such as Teddy Bear Club International, Teddy Bear Scene and Teddy Bear Times.
Every bear is personally made by the bear artist and are generally one of a kind, with a personality of their own. There is a special bear for everyone, and I love to see their wee personalities come out with every stitch. The bears are filled with polyfibre and either glass bead filling or steel shot, giving a nice weighty feel. We use bead or glass eyes, and are working on a range of bears with polymer clay noses. We do at times welcome other critters, such as mice, rabbits, and cats.
The trade name Wee Darlin Bears is now being carried on by Rosetta Jallow. The bears are made from fine quality mohair, which is expensive and they are collectors items, and are therefore not suitable for small children.
